Update.

So it's been a while since I last posted. Turns out working full time tires me out. I work annoying shifts where I either start really early and then get tired, or start in the afternoon and sleep in late, so basically I am just making excuses for why I never blog. 

Things have changed though. As of the New Year I have a new job. A Monday-Friday 9-5 job. I'm hoping this will be the beginning of my better blogging. There is so much I feel I need to catch up on.  I've had another birthday, changed my hair colour, and graduated all since I last posted. 

But I will be back soon!

University, My Experience

Are you heading off to uni this year? If so congratulations, you're probably about to have the time of your life!
As recent graduate I am proud to say I made it through my university years. Personally, I found the whole experience very difficult and unfortunately I am not one of those people to rave about it, there were times where I didn't think I would make it to the end.
My first year was the worst.....

Summer.

It's safe to say I have probably had the most amazing summer of my life. You may have noticed my lack of posts over the last 3 months, and I assure you it was for a very good reason. I have spent the last 3 months working and travelling in America. I signed up for the 'Camp America' programme as I finished university and it was the best decision I made.

The long bob.

I've recently become a Keeping Up with the Kardashians follower. At first I was ashamed, but now I'm a proud fan. As a bit of a social media nerd, I obviously follow them all on Twitter/Instagram etc. and a few weeks ago I saw it. Kylie Jenners new hair. And from that moment onwards I knew I needed that hair. 

And okay, I'm fully aware that no I do not look anything like Kylie Jenner, nor does my hair - even after I had it cut. But the the big trend we are focusing on here is the 'long bob'. As the owner of a rather large face I can't really go shorter than a long bob and although it did take a lot of getting used to I do love it!

MTV Movie Awards

Monday was the night of the MTV Movie Awards, to me the awards are just another excuse to admire celeb make up and beauty looks. As always they were looking beautiful. This year we got a lucky look at Zac Efron topless too, just as an added bonus - well done Rita Ora.

Reckless Beauty heads to Amsterdam PART 2

So yesterday you saw my two favourite cosmetics places in Amsterdam, but don't worry - there was plenty more! One very interesting shop we visited was DA. They had LOADS of make up for sale. It was very much like their version of Boots or Superdrug and there were loads of offers on.

Reckless Beauty heads to Amsterdam PART 1

This week I took an exciting trip to the capital of the Netherlands - Amsterdam. I have to admit I was a bit naive of what to expect. In my head I thought it was going to be a small 'pretty' city with a few boring shops, a lot of drugs and the odd prostitute. On my return I realise I couldn't be more wrong and it has now become one of my absolute favourite places. I set out on a mission to discover the cosmetics available in Amsterdam and was completely surprised, not only can you get most of the big brands over there that we get over in England, there is SO MANY cosmetics shops. 

One of my first spots was a MAC shop (I can spot them a mile off!) and it was even a MAC PRO store...

So I got another lipstick. It's like a souvenir to me, every time I go to London I buy a mac lipstick. My lack of organisational skills is causing me to keep finding them everywhere. On my most recent trip I got this lovely shade of pink. I wanted a shade that was suitable to casual everyday wear. I already have a few pinks - angel and snob but I they arn't my favourites. This one is called Bombshell and has gone up in my top 3 mac lipsticks. 

Spring Summer Trends 2014

It's Spring - YAY! Thats means its time for a whole new wardrobe of course. And if you are getting new clothes obviously you need new make up too! 

So here is a little post of the top make up trends this summer. And unlike every summer post you ever see mine is set in an autumnal looking park - whoops!

Black Eyeliner

The first look is one that is popular all the time but was big on the catwalk this season - Black eyeliner. Stella McCartney told Vogue that this season we are wearing this trend with a rebellious style. Also note: the side braid is also a top trend!

Aqua and Lilac eyes

The colours you should be wearing on your eyes are Aqua and Lilac. Even if they do make you look like you have been punched in the eyes like they do on me, wear them! These rainbow colours are very summery and colourful and will make your eyes stand out.

Orange lips 

The lip colour this season is orange. A very warm colour that makes your lips stand out. Orange lips can be worn very similarly to red lips and can be worn night or day!

White eyeliner

This is the slightly strange one. White eyeliner. This was spotted on the catwalks this season. But you don't need to wear it like that. Be creative and incorporate it in with your black eyeliner. An example of this is Illamasqua speckled eyeliner look.

What happened this week?!

So I vanished for a week, I do apologise. I have a good reason though, this week I had a great time doing the make up for a friends film. I spent the week up in the forest near Portsmouth. About a million insect bites and a few fake bullet wounds later and I am back.

Happy St Patricks Day

Happy St Patricks day to all my Irish readers! I love the way the Irish celebrate St Patricks day. It looks like so much fun, I wish we celebrated St Georges day in the same way over here in England.
Here are some pictures of my St. Patricks Day make-up. Clover coloured eyes and pot of gold lips. Such a fan of Trash by Illamasqua (Gold lipstick), this was the first time I had used it and it came out a lot better than I expected. Not sure I would wear it on a general day to day basis though. My sister did walk in the room and say "Why have you got that on your face"….

Whilst walking around Oxford Street on my 'week before payday' trip to London, I was quick to notice a great trend this season. Yellow pastels were all over the place.
